Firstly, don't judge or resist what you are feeling. You are feeling what you are feeling because these emotions are coming up to show you where you are being conditional in your feelings and thinking. This is a great thing to become aware of because conditional thinking will create loss, lack and illness in your life in some way shape or form. Whenever you experience these feelings, ask yourself "what is it showing you?" - (or to use one of the 12 keys) "look for the purpose, look for the good".
Asking these questions will bring to your awareness the source of what it is that is creating those feelings of sadness. Once you are aware, you can decide if the source of your thinking serves you or not (maybe you are feeling what you are feeling just so you can pause long enough to see what is going in inside). If it doesn't serve you, then you can choose differently.
So to gain your focus back, is don't judge the feelings, allow yourself to feel what you are feeling, ask what is the purpose of these feelings, and make a choice to choose differently or not.
