Oftentimes, the word legacy may evoke a belief in a person about how he or she will be remembered once they pass on. Certainly, this particular dimension of that concept is important, and connotes a status of recognition that may carry on for generations to come. However, in developing leadership during one's lifetime, it is far more important to reflect and decide upon a statement of action that defines one's purpose while they are living. Advancing a legacy during one's lifetime can provide self-fulfillment and self-actualization for an individual who is dedicated to becoming true to purpose. So how does one go about advancing a legacy in leadership during their lifetime?

The first step in this evolving process is to invest time in discovering one's passion(s). You'd be surprised at how little time individuals actually permit themselves to dwell upon this important cornerstone of their lives. Permitting the time is an operative ingredient, and it is best to consider nurturing these reflections on a daily basis. Once you become accustomed to allowing yourself the daily time to discover your passion or passions, your spiritual nature will lead the way in unleashing your burning desire to be and do that which is YOU. Trust your spiritual wisdom and your heart to guide you.

Thereafter, your destiny, calling, or legacy becomes defined through your purpose, power, and plan. Ultimately, your plan in action will bring productivity. Your productivity will, in turn, transform your life's results into profitability (not just associated with monetary wealth, but also related to all the riches of life that you will experience and express through your legacy), which becomes "the stuff that dreams are made of" and creates a better world for all to enjoy.

A great example of a person who is advancing a legacy in leadership at this moment is the well-known talk show host Larry King who is celebrating fifty years worth of his success this year. Think about the Six P's of Success that were mentioned in this article, and you can easily recognize all of these sequential elements demonstrated through King's legendary career and lifelong journey.

Make a decision today to advance your legacy, and begin to notice how you feel, and experience the changes that will occur within yourself. Moreso, take interest and careful observation on how these changes will begin to carve your pathway each day to the journey of discovery that you have been desiring all your life!
