SO YOU HAVE A SECOND HARD DRIVE
So you have a second hard drive. You think your data is protected. After all, you have those duplicate copies. But do you really????????? You've been diligent and copied that data onto a CD, USB or hard drive. Here comes the big question. Where did you put the CD or USB drive? Did you put them in a drawer near the computer? Is your second hard drive in the same location as your computer? Now think about it.
We hate to think about disasters, but..... What would happen to your data if your office flooded, i.e. Hurricane Katrina? What would happen to your data if lightening hit and burned your business down; or a thief comes in and scoops everything up, including that second hard drive? How protected is your data really?
Get that data off-site, away from the business, home, etc. Use remote online back up. Make sure it's encrypted and that multiple copies are made and stored in multiple data centers. Don't rely on someone's garage or basement to protect your most valuable business asset.

Data Protection
I just talked with someone who lost their hard drive...
With all the emails that we get on a daily basis, even
losing a week's worth of data can put us back!
Reminds me of a cute diddy..
(Sung to the tune of the Beatle's Yesterday)..
Yesterday, All those backups seemed a waste of pay.
Now my database has gone away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.
Suddenly, There's not half the files there used to be,
There's a milestone hanging over me
But the system crashed so suddenly.
I pushed something wrong
What it was I could not say.
Now all my data's gone and I long for yesterday-ay-ay-ay.
Yesterday, The need for backups seemed so far away.
I knew my data was all here to stay,
Now I believe in yesterday.
